Handcrafted by a women's group in Southeast Asia from 100% natural Bodhi rubber tree leaves. Twice a year they are sustainably harvested from fallen leaves from these majestic trees. Over six weeks the leaves are soaked using an ancient process to preserve them. Once strengthened, each leaf is naturally dyed into beautiful translucent colors and then 8 leaves are hand tied to each miniature light on the string.

The Bodhi leaf in Nepalese culture is believed to bring Patience and Enlightenment.
"The Bodhi Tree, was a large and very old Sacred Fig tree (Ficus religiosa) located in Bodh Gaya, under which Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher and founder of Buddhism later known as Gautama Buddha, achieved enlightenment, or Bohdi. In religious iconography, the Bodhi tree is recognizable by its heart-shaped leaves, which are prominently displayed."
